So as I mentioned, Nolan and I went to Trader Joe’s on Sunday. When I say we “went there” I mean we spent a good hour wandering the store in bliss. We picked up our usual TJ’s items:
- Frozen bell peppers
- very cherry blend
- laughing cow cheese
…and we grabbed some new/seasonal items!
Salted Caramel Chai Latte
This was one of the samples they were giving out at the store. I’m such a sucker for those. 🙂 Nolan and I buy the Chai Latte k-cups, so I was very interested in trying this product. O.M.G It is incredible. At first when you hear “salted caramel” you expect it to taste like flavored salt water but the blend of flavors is truly incredible. It’s not overly sweet, and it has that great chai bite to it. I can’t explain it, but it tastes like winter. It was a unanimous decision to snatch up this seasonal treat!
Obviously I LOVE the food at Trader Joe’s. BUT, I also LOVE the liquor section at TJ’S! They have such a wide variety of wines from various locations, and most of them are very cheap. This is perfect for someone like me. I love to try new things and if I don’t love it, I only spend $5. This particular bottle I had tried before and really enjoyed. It’s a fun wine! It’s bottled in Portugal and it’s light, crisp and bubbly.
I discovered something very sad at TJ’s. They discontinued my favorite chips.
So sad. My suspicions were confirmed yesterday by a TJ’s employee. Sad news!
After the grieving process, I manned up and chose another chip to accompany my favorite dip.
The bagel chips were good, but it just wasn’t the same. They had too much going on, and the incredible flavors of the dip got lost in the complexity.
I wasted no time breaking into this box and whipping up some gingerbread! Unfortunately, halfway through the process, I realized I didn’t have any oil. Luckily, I had some unsweetened applesauce in the fridge and I was able to substitute for a fraction of the calories.
We went shopping hungry, and we just couldn’t pass up this pizza!
We cannot wait to dig into the rest of our goodies.
